Building Code Appeals Board

Membership Qualifications

Per Section 113.3 of the BOCA National Building Code/2012, the board of appeals shall consist of members who are qualified by experience and training to pass on matters pertaining to building construction and are not employees of the jurisdiction.

Appeal

Any person shall have the right to appeal a decision of the code official to the Code Appeals Board. An application for appeal shall be based on a claim that the true intent of this code or the rules legally adopted there under have been incorrectly interpreted, the provisions of this code do not fully apply, or an equivalent form of construction is to be used.

Completed appeals forms can be delivered to the Code Enforcement office and fees paid through the cashier at the Clarksburg Municipal Building, 222 W Main Street, Clarksburg or emailed to codeenforcement@cityofclarksburgwv.com and fee payment made online.
