Clarksburg's Inaugural Christmas Lights Contest (2023)

The winners of Clarksburg's first annual Christmas Lights Contest are:

  • 1733 Fairmont Ave (Griswold Award)
  • 1411 E Main St (Creativity Award)
  • 409 Spring Ave (Classic Award)

Winners can receive their awards on December 22nd at the City Council meeting starting at 6PM.

We would like to thank the citizens that participated this year. There were many great entries, and our judges had a great time viewing all the homes. We also noticed a number of excellent displays that weren't entered into the contest. We look forward to spreading the word and getting even more participation next year. We'd like to call out a few honorable mentions that were really impressive but fell just short of our three category winners.

2024 Fall Clean-Up / Bulk Collection Routes & Dates

The City of Clarksburg will again sponsor its Annual Residential Only Fall Clean-Up in October. Open trucks will be available to take items too large and bulky for normal garbage pick-up. IE: Stoves, washers, dryers, hot water tanks, electronic equipment such as televisions, microwaves or computers, and normal household items. Limited to one small truck load per residence.

Jesus Fest

Dates: Friday, August 2 - Saturday August 3
Location: Jackson Square, Downtown Clarksburg

Jesus Fest is a FREE Christian music festival held each year in downtown Clarksburg that features national recording artists, speakers, and awesome local bands. Jesus Fest is fun for the entire family, from face painting to bounce houses, there is something for all ages.

West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival

Dates: Friday, August 30 - Sunday, September 1

The West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival is a beloved annual event in Clarksburg, founded in 1979 by local leaders. It showcases Italian-American culture through its authentic food, music, entertainment, and traditions. The festival attracts thousands of visitors each year and is considered a highlight of the region's calendar.

West Virginia Black Heritage Festival

Date: Saturday, September 7 (Noon - 11:00 PM)

The week after the Italian Heritage Festival, downtown Clarksburg comes alive again for the West Virginia Black Heritage Festival, celebrating Black history and culture in West Virginia. Enjoy street soul food, live Soul and R&B performances, including this year’s headliner, Invincible: A Glorious Tribute to Michael Jackson. 

Golf Tournament, Youth Block Party and 3 on 3 Basketball Competition happen Friday, September 6. See website for details. 

Greek Street Food Festival

Date: Friday, September 13 (11:00 AM – 7:00 PM) - Pre-orders are available starting Friday, August 30

Hosted by St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, this annual festival celebrates Greek street food on Friday, September 13, from 11 AM to 7 PM. Dine in to enjoy live Greek Bouzouki music or take your meal to go.

Mtn Craft Film Festival

Dates: Thursday, October 3 - Sunday, October 6

West Virginia’s newest film festival returns to Clarksburg from October 3-6 for its second annual event. A collaboration between The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center and Mtn Craft production studio, this festival will feature both feature-length and short-form films that “highlight the cultural region of Appalachia, are created by Appalachians, or feature Appalachian locations or crew.”
