City of Clarksburg Announces

Shop N' Save

Former Brownfield Site – Adamston Glass Site

The City of Clarksburg is proud to announce that on Thursday, November 3 a Redevelopment Agreement was signed with TEDA J Limited Partnership.

The following is the information pertaining to this project.  The Clarksburg Urban Renewal Authority in partnership with the Harrison County Board of Education is proud to announce that a new SHOP n’ SAVE will be constructed near Adamston Elementary; where the former Adamston Flat Glass Plant was located.  This SHOP ‘n SAVE will be owned and operated by the TEDA J Family Limited Partnership.

TEDA J Family Limited Partnership plans to incorporate the SHOP n’ SAVE parking facility with adjoining neighbors to enhance the nearby retailers.  This project will include the addition of a new proposed entrance into the development from West Pike Street, which will improve the traffic flow for the residents and reduce traffic along Adamston Elementary.  This entrance will also relieve the unsafe parking/traffic patterns in this area, making it a safer environment for students, parents, and teachers.

The good news doesn’t stop there!  This is a full service SHOP n’ SAVE, which means that an Express Gas Station will be built on the former Adamston Flat Glass parcel as part of this project!  Additionally, this project will add seventy (70) new full and part time positions to the area, as well as approximately seventy (70) local construction jobs for the development of this project.  Furthermore, TEDA J Family Limited Partnership plans to lease the remaining property to other businesses, creating even more jobs in this area; therefore more businesses and opportunity will be moving into Adamston which will better the lives of all Clarksburg residents.

SHOP 'n SAVE is a full service supermarket with a Deli, Bakery, Produce, Floral, and Lottery Departments available at most locations.  With the future development of this property, the residents of Clarksburg will enjoy the convenience of a full service grocery store within their community, and the elderly residents will have the ability to obtain food products within close proximity to their homes.

The SHOP 'n SAVE and TEDA J Family Limited Partnership will be partners in education with Adamston Elementary.  There will be many opportunities for the students to enhance their education, while the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will have another great partner to assist with the betterment of the school.  TEDA J will also be constructing a new parking area for the teachers of Adamston Elementary, which will include improved lighting, landscaping, and continuous maintenance. Attached is a schematic layout of the proposed development plans for this project.
