All appointments made to this Commission by Council shall be for terms to begin on July 1 of the year of the appointment. The first appointment made to the Commission after enactment of this section shall be for a term to begin on June 2 and thereafter the terms shall run on an annual basis beginning on July 1. The Fire Civil Service Commission regulates and oversees the rules established by the commission. The Fire Civil Service Commission is responsible for testing for new applicants within the Fire Department, the testing for promotions within the Fire Department, hears grievances filed by Fire Department personnel, if unresolved at appropriately taken grievance procedure levels. Fire Civil Service Commission meets on an as-needed basis. Meetings are held at a date/time when a quorum can be available.
