The primary objectives of the Fire Department are to protect lives and property, and to respond to life-threatening emergency medical calls and vehicle accidents. The Fire Department also educates the public on fire protection, fire safety, and emergency medical procedures. They also inspect buildings for code violations, and approve buildings for Use and Occupancy Permits

Equipment and Fire Station Locations:
The Clarksburg Fire Department consists of 42 full-time, paid firefighters, 5 Class A Pumpers, 1 Aerial Platform, 1 Aerial Ladder, 1 Rescue Truck, and 1 Utility Pick-up truck.

The Fire Department can respond from the main fire station or one of three sub-stations strategically positioned throughout the city. The City of Clarksburg has a Class 3 ISO rating (beginning April 1, 2000).

Businesses interested in having their employees taught CPR can call the Fire Chief and schedule a private CPR seminar. Seminars are also available for smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector use and maintenance.
