A Project Signing/Pre-Construction meeting took place Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the City Manager’s Conference Room for the Magnolia Avenue Slip Repair Project. A Notice to Proceed was issued at the conclusion of the meeting.
Clarksburg City Council, at its regular meeting held on September 20, 2018, awarded the bid to Wolfe’s Excavating, LLC of Clarksburg, WV on a total base bid of $113,962.88.
The project will consist of construction of 1,100 square feet of large modular block retaining wall, excavation, clean drainage aggregate, drainage piping and structures, seeding and mulching and temporary erosion & sediment controls.
The City requests that the project begin as soon as possible and continue to work on a daily basis until total completion of the project. An emphasis on traffic control was discussed as the project is located within a neighborhood. Area residents are requested to use alternate routes for ingress/egress as the portion of Magnolia from Milford Street to Reynolds Street will be intermittently closed during the duration of the project. Alternate routes include Liberty Avenue and Hartland Avenue.
Present for the meeting were City Manager Martin Howe, Assistant City Manager Anthony Bellotte, Finance Director Kim Karakiozis, Hornor Brothers Engineer Tom Corathers, and representatives of Wolfe Excavating which included Project Manager, Rich Davis and Purchasing Agent, Nathan Wilson.
Hornor Brothers Engineering completed the design on the project.
