A Project Signing/Pre-Construction meeting took place Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in Council Chambers inside City Hall for the Ascension/Brannon Slip and Road Repair Project. A Notice to Proceed was issued at the conclusion of the meeting.
Present for the meeting were City Manager Martin Howe, Assistant City Manager Anthony Bellotte, Finance Director Kim Karakiozis, Hornor Brothers Engineer Tom Corathers, and representatives of Alan Stone Company which included General Manager, Kim Hanson; Project Manager, Ben Fowler; and Foreman Jeremy Jarvis.
Clarksburg City Council, at its regular meeting held on September 20, 2018, awarded the bid to Alan Stone Company, Inc. of Williamstown, WV on a total base bid of $396,113.00.
The project will consist of construction of 1200 linear feet of steel pile with 1248 square feet of concrete lagging retaining wall, excavation, clean drainage aggregate, drainage piping and structures, seeding and mulching, along with erosion and sediment controls.
The project is located within the Montpelier section of Clarksburg. An emphasis on traffic control was discussed as North Ohio Avenue is a heavily traveled residential street.
Alan Stone Company anticipates starting Monday, October 8, 2018 and estimates substantial completion by the third week of November 2018. The road has been closed since February 2018.
Hornor Brothers Engineering completed the design on the project.
