Tease Hair Salon and Boutique is owned and operated by mother daughter duo Karen Alastanos and Aleah Alastanos. Formerly known as Not Too Shabby Boutique, Tease Hair Salon and Boutique opened in June 2018. The name change and salon addition came on the heels of Aleah graduating cosmetology school.
Eventually, Aleah will be the sole owner of this mother daughter business and did not want to have to worry about changing the name to match what this salon and boutique have to offer. “We wanted to make the changes now, so I could establish a solid clientele, and the public would know who we are and what we have to offer”, said Aleah.
Aleah is currently the only stylist at Tease Hair Salon and Boutique, but she envisions one day having multiple stylists and a barber. “We want to be able to have services for everyone, and we will have a licensed massage therapist starting this spring (2019)”, stated Karen. The two are currently in the process of sampling products that will be sold at the store, but they will continue to sample until they find a line that they absolutely love before selling products to their customers. Karen explained, “We only want to provide products that we swear by to our clientele. If I sell it, then you know I love it.”
After only being in the hair business a few months, Aleah has already built a strong client base. Customer, Cynthia Campbell explained, Aleah listens well to what I want and has the technique to do what I ask of her. After getting my hair done it looked healthy, and I was satisfied with the quality of service I received.”
The boutique aspect of the business has changed, as well. When the establishment was Not Too Shabby a wider variety of merchandise was sold, but since making the shift, Tease Salon and Boutique has been focusing more on dresses and their WV Home t-shirts, which they have become known for carrying. The boutique also carries vendors in their store, like JoMax Jewlery, which sells handmade silverware jewelry and Hotline Bling, that makes custom made T-shirts.
Tease Salon and Boutique is currently looking to hire stylists who are up to date on the most current trends and techniques. They are looking for stylists who click with their brand. Tease Salon and Boutique is trendy, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing.
