Clarksburg Police Department Participating in No Shave November to Benefit WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital.
The Clarksburg Police Department officers will be looking less clean-shaven this month.
Police department personnel are participating in No-Shave November and will be allowed to grow a beard or facial hair. No-Shave November is a month-long event where participants stop shaving and grooming in order to raise funding and awareness for cancer prevention.
“We’re thrilled to participate in No-Shave November” said Police Chief Mark Kiddy. “Our officers are able to have a little fun while raising awareness and funding for a very important cause. It’s all part of our community policing plan."
As of Thursday, November 5, 2020, department members have already raised $730.   Each officer had to donate a minimum of $25 to participate.   Anyone wishing to donate or assist the CPD in raising money for this cause can send or bring donations to the police station at 222 West Main Street, Clarksburg, WV  26301.  (please make checks payable to WVU Children's Hospital)
The Clarksburg Police Department hopes to make this an annual fundraising event.
