Local Business Owners Invest in 3 Downtown Clarksburg Buildings for New Business Ventures

The new owners, Dan Cava and Matt Policano, are excited to work with the City to beautify Downtown Clarksburg and give something back to the City they love and call home.

DanMatt, LLC Real Estate purchased the Fifth Floor Building and the adjacent building which housed Home Industry Bakery at auction and then subsequently purchased the PDQ Building.

The owners plan, with the City’s assistance, to raze the bakery and PDQ buildings and construct a much- needed parking area which will house approximately 20 parking spaces. Additional improvements will be made to the corner with landscaping and LED lighting.

The former Fifth Floor and Embellishments location encompasses approximately 13,238 square feet and contains six floors, which include a mezzanine above the first floor.

Mr. Policano will operate a high-end martini and wine bar, which will also serve lunch and dinner, on the fifth floor of the building.  Future plans include the addition of a rooftop bar.

A forthcoming full-scale restaurant with outdoor seating and patio dining will encompass the first floor.

Negotiations have begun with possible tenants for all other floors.

Both Mr. Cava and Mr. Policano were instilled with the importance of investing-in and being proud of their hometowns by their family; Dan’s father James Cava and Matt’s grandfather, the late Dominick Policano.

Mr. Policano stated, “My family has been in business in Downtown Clarksburg for over 60 years and I look forward to being here for many more.”
