Simons Crossing: 7.5 Million Affordable Housing Investment Announced for Clarksburg
Clarksburg, WV – Woda Cooper Companies, Inc., a regional housing developer, general contractor and management company, is pleased to announce their $7.5 million investment and the construction of Simons Crossing, a new family residential rental community to be located on N. 12th Street in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Simons Crossing will provide approximately 38 units, a mix of two-bedroom and three-bedroom options. Simons Crossing will provide a full package of energy star appliances and will feature many other energy-saving amenities. The development will include a community space and recreation space for on-site management and for the residents use.

Simons Crossing will be a new residential community that everyone will be proud to call home. I spent the first 25 years of my life in Clarksburg and I am thrilled to be home again.” Simons Crossing plans to start construction during the summer of 2019.
The City Administration has been working with the Woda Group for a little over two years on this specific project. Clarksburg City Council approved a resolution to amend the City’s Comprehensive Plan in May 2018 as development of commercial, single-family residential, recreational and affordable multifamily housing was identified as a need.
City Manager Martin Howe stated, “Housing is always an important part of any growth we have in Clarksburg. Simons Crossing will continue fulfilling our community’s need for high quality affordable housing with modern, energy-efficient, affordable apartment homes and amenities.”
The Woda Group and City are continuing to work together throughout the plan review stages and assessing the infrastructure needs to allow for this development to be completed and allow for additional development within this area in the future.
