he Shamrocks, Notre Dame High School Show Choir, directed by Sarah Nale and Joshua Stubbs with Choreography by Kim Bell, took the State Runner-up in the Festival Division, Saturday, March, 16 at the State Show Choir Competition. The State Show Choir Competition is divided up into divisions based on their choir members. The Shamrocks are made up entirely of 7th-10th grade students from Notre Dame High School; not only were the Shamrocks the youngest show choir at states, but they were also the smallest in their division.
The Shamrocks’ performance was titled “Break Free” and the theme was self-doubt and self-esteem. The show began with darker times where people may feel isolated and alone and progressed into a lighter time after someone finds their tribe.
In addition to the Shamrocks winning second in the state in their division, various individuals excelled. Ben Long was named the Shamrocks’ best performer and McKenzie Fittro was named the Division’s Best Female Vocalist.
